September 2017 by Ina Giversen — Leave a commentLatest research: decreasing sperm quality in the western world A new major meta-analysis conducted by an international team of researchers shows that sperm count (the number of semen cells) in men living in the Western world has fallen dramatically over the past 40 years. The meta-analysis is based on 185 studies and shows that on average, there has been a decrease of 50-60% in sperm count in men from Europe, North America, Australia and New Zealand.
